Tap or press Space to drop the block. Cash out before tax eats your gains.

How to play Stack Tax

  1. A block slides at the top of the screen. Tap (or press Space) to drop it.
  2. If it overlaps the tower below, it stacks. The part hanging off gets sliced off — your next block is smaller.
  3. Each placed block earns points (more for taller towers) but charges a 5% tax on your bankable score.
  4. Higher = bigger payout, but bigger tax. There's an optimal moment to stop.
  5. Press CASH OUT (or C) to lock in your score permanently.
  6. Miss completely (zero overlap) → you lose all unbanked score.

The puzzle where greed is mathematically punished

Stack Tax flips the classic stacking-game formula. Instead of "stack as high as you can", you must choose: keep stacking for bigger blocks, or cash out now and lock in your score?

The math is brutal. Every block earns you points proportional to your tower height. Every block also costs 5% of your current bankable score. Eventually the tax outpaces the earnings — and you have to decide when to bail.
